Many DMCC applications stall on one document: a degree that isn't attested, a marriage certificate stamped in the wrong order, or a parent company resolution without legalisation. Document attestation proves a foreign document is genuine so DMCC and UAE immigration can accept it. We map the exact attestation chain for your country and document, and manage it to the final stamp.

When DMCC needs attested documents

The typical attestation chain

  1. Home countryNotarisation, then the home country's foreign ministry (or an apostille, depending on the country).
  2. UAE embassyThe UAE embassy or consulate in the issuing country attests the document.
  3. MOFA in the UAEThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs attests it on arrival.
  4. Legal translationTranslated into Arabic by a licensed legal translator where DMCC requires it.

The exact chain varies by country and document type, so we confirm it before you start, which avoids the most expensive mistake: having to begin again.

DMCC document attestation — FAQs

Do I need my degree attested for a DMCC visa?
Where the job title requires a qualification, yes. Applicants outside the UAE need it attested by the UAE embassy; inside the UAE and for visa transfers, DMCC asks for MOFA attestation and a legal Arabic translation.
What is MOFA attestation?
It is the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs' stamp confirming that a foreign document has been properly attested abroad, so it can be used in the UAE.
Does a marriage certificate need attestation for a DMCC family visa?
Yes. A marriage certificate issued abroad must be attested by the UAE embassy in that country and then by MOFA in the UAE.
How much does DMCC charge to attest a resolution?
DMCC charges AED 215 for an attestation of resolution and AED 215 for a true copy of company documents, according to its schedule of charges at the time of writing.
